What iPhone 18 devices are slated for release?

Like previous iPhone launches, the iPhone 18 lineup will consist of a base iPhone 18 device, a low-cost iPhone 18e, an iPhone 18 Pro, and the superior iPhone 18 Pro Max.

There’s also an iPhone Fold that will release this year (fingers crossed due to several delays) but the name hasn’t yet been cemented.

That’s quite a few Apple mobile phone models and that’s why the release will be a bit different this time round.

When will the iPhone 18 series release

Numerous sources are already reporting that the new iPhone 18 series will launch in two lots.

The high-end iPhone 18 phones will launch in September 2026 (fall), and this launch includes the iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro.

The affordable iPhone 18 mobiles will launch in early 2027, and the launch will include the original iPhone 18 and low-cost iPhone 18e.

This means a potentially long wait for iPhone users who want to upgrade their existing iPhone 17 or older to the more affordable iPhone 18 or 18e.

Will there be an Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max & iPhone 18 Pro?

Given the massive popularity of Apple’s larger iPhone models like the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025 alone, Apple won't be shelving the Pro and Pro max models!

There will be no design experiments and we expect the iPhone 18 Pro will maintain a similar design to the iPhone 17 Pro models.

The device’s front will be slightly different since the company will reduce the size of the Dynamic Island. Some reports say the Dynamic Island could disappear altogether! Speculations are rife about a punch hole cutout to facilitate the front camera.

Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be thicker and heavier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It will weight 240 grams, that’s 7 grams more than the 233 gram iPhone 17 Pro Max

Also, Apple will look to ditch the two-tone look of the iPhone 17 Pro models and update the back glass to make it merge seamlessly with the aluminum frame on the iPhone 18 series.

What are the potential iPhone 18 Pro Max Colors?

Given the undeniable impact that Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro Max made, Apple would be crazy not to experiment with new colors for the new iPhone 18 series devices.

It’s just as well the color expansion worked out for the iPhone 17 series because the transition from Aluminum to Titanium has only facilitated the ability to produce unique and intriguing iPhone 18 colors that aren’t already offered by other mobile phone manufacturers on the market.

If the speculations are anything to go by, Apple already has new iPhone colorways incoming, these include a purple, brown, and burgundy. 

The burgundy looks like it’s going to be an instant hit but we’ll have to wait to see how the brown and purple variants are received.

What is the capacity of the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max battery?

iPhone users have spoken and Apple has taken that feedback when it comes to the battery of the upcoming iPhone 18 series, especially the iPhone 18 Pro Max which will undoubtedly have a larger battery.

The exact size increase is unknown but the final iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity is expected to be between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh.

Apart from the much needed battery upgrade, the iPhone 18 series will be embedded with a new A20 chip that uses TSMC's 2nm process for efficiency and power upgrades.

Packaging the A20 chip with TSMC's 2nm with TSMC's Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) technology means battery life is massively improved over last year’s iPhone 17 series A19 chip.

Note: It’s uncertain whether the whole range of the new iPhone 18 series will have this setup.

Otherwise, iPhone users can expect the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery to be among the longest lasting for mobiles in 2026.

What is the expected Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max price?

The iPhone 18 Pro Max price is expected to stay the same at $1,199! We’ll have to wait to see if it’s true and what global prices look like.

The current Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max price in India is Rs 1,49,900 (256 GB), Rs 1,69,900 (512GB), Rs 1,89,900 (1 TB).

These prices are much higher than the iPhone 17 prices in the USA, so Indian consumers should prepare for inflated prices when the iPhone 18 series comes out.

What will the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max price be?

Looking toward affordability, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro prices are expected to be in-line with iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro prices.

The iPhone 17 starts at $799, the iPhone 17 Pro is $1,099, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max price is $1,199.

In India, the iPhone 17 starts at Rs 82,900 (256GB), Rs1,02,900 (512GB), the iPhone 17 Pro is Rs 1,34,900 (256GB), Rs 1,54,900 (512GB), Rs 1,74,900 (1 TB), and the iPhone 17 Pro Max price is Rs 1,49,900 (256 GB), Rs 1,69,900 (512GB), Rs 1,89,900 (1 TB).

Is the iPhone Fold going to be released in 2026?

Many will take this rumor with some salt because the iPhone Fold launch has been delayed several times!

The rumors are that the upcoming iPhone Fold will launch in September 2026 alongside the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max iPhone models.

What are the iPhone Fold design rumors?

From the new iPhone rumors, the iPhone Fold will appear as a book style foldable device. The phone will open up into a larger screen with a smaller outer display. The larger screen will be a 7.6-inch display and the smaller outer display will be approximately 5.3 inches big.

It will be 4.5 mm thick when open and 9 mm thick when closed. However, take this with a pinch of salt as various leaksters have been predicating different thicknesses.

Apple will be outsourcing their needs, with Samsung expected to develop these ultra-thin glass displays.

A punch-hole rear camera will appear on the outer display and the big news is there’s an under-display camera under the inner display.

The build will feature a combination of titanium and aluminum according to analyst Jeff Pu. It’s likely the mobile giant will stick to titanium for stress bearing areas to avoid bending. The aluminum proves better in areas to manage heat dissipation and weight.

Fun fact: The iPhone Fold device when open will be the largest display on an iPhone to date!

What features are not on the iPhone Fold?

Another iPhone Fold rumor that’s collected mixed responses is that the device doesn’t have Face ID! Yes, you read that right! Instead of Face ID, Apple will be using Touch ID because the phone couldn’t fit the Face ID hardware.

Another rumor is that the Touch ID won’t be built into the scream, and could appear on a button. This mimics how the Apple iPad Mini works for unlocking.

What are other iPhone Fold specification rumors?

The device will feature a 4:3 aspect ratio and the display appears wider rather than longer.

Rear cameras will include a main and ultra-wide lens, no telephoto lens! If rumors are anything to trust, dual 48 MP lens, as after all, current day iPhones feature these lenses.

The under-display front camera will be an industry-first 24 MP which aren’t even offered by the latest Android devices.

The outer screen will have a punch-hole cutout for a camera that will be accessible when the iPhone Fold is closed.

What is the capacity of the iPhone Fold’s battery?

Judging by the latest iPhone rumors, the Apple iPhone Fold will feature the largest batter seen on an iPhone. The potential 5,400mAH to 5,800mAh battery means that its battery will even be bigger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity.

Is there going to be an iPhone 18 Air release?

Apple has been pleased with their iPhone Air and are expected to delay the launch of the next iPhone ‘Air’. model due to sketchy sales.

A release date hasn’t been picked but we’re sure there’s an Apple iPhone 18 Air on the horizon.
