Samsung Release Olympic Edition Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung, a worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner has officially launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a specialized Olympic Edition smartphone that’s exclusively designed for athletes competing in the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Samsung will distribute the customized Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 device to nearly a total of 3,800 athletes competing from around 90 different countries. 

The core of this initiative is to support the athletes’ ability to document each step of their experience and turn them into memories to take home and cherish. 

Design 

The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition follows other Olympic Edition Smartphones with a special design and this one is suited to the 2026 Winter Games.

  • The back features a blue glass panel in a shade that aligns with the “Italian azure” of the host nation and connects the blue of Samsung’s branding. 
  • The side frame and branding on the back panel are golden, and chosen for its symbol of pursuing a podium finish and success. 

Additionally, the device will come with some accessories. A designer clear case with a blue magnet and golden leaf motif will also be in the box.

Device Hardware 

Most of the specs are the same as the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. This includes the phone’s compact, foldable clamshell design. The highlight is the camera system, a 50 MP wide and a 12 MP Ultra-wide lens. 

Special Athlete Tools & Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Features 

Unlike regular Galaxy devices, this Olympic Edition Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes with new Galaxy AI features that are capable of helping athletes throughout the games: 

Now Brief: Daily updated info consisting of calendar events, reminders, fitness summaries. 

Interpreter: This is an on-device tool that delivers accurate and real-time language translation. It doesn’t require network connectivity, ensuring communication throughout various geographical locations. 

Dual Recording: This exclusive and dedicated camera mode can simultaneously use both front and rear cameras to capture athlete surroundings and reactions. 

Photo Assist: This Samsung AI-backed photo editing tool enables background adjustments and object manipulation. 

Additional Features: 

  • Complimentary 100GB 5G eSIM
  • Galaxy athlete card for exchanging profiles and networking with peers
  • Samsung wallet and digital passes for village amenities
  • Athlete365 app integrated with “Now Brief” for competition info and mental health support

“Victory Selfie” Program 

If you watched the Paris Summer Olympics 2024, you would have noticed Samsung provided a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition device for athletes to take their “Victory Selfie”. 

Likewise, Olympic Winners at Milano Cortina 2026 will be part of the “Victory Selfie” Program, allowing them to capture memories from the podium. This initiative will also be expanded to cover team sporting events. 

In addition to this program, Samsung has launched the “Victory Profile”. This project leverages the Galaxy S25 Ultra to document portraits of athletes who are part of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), including personal moments occurring beyond the arena, pitch, or stadium. 

Availability 

The Olympic Edition mobile phone will be distributed during the 2026 Winter Games which is scheduled to start on January 30. 

These customized devices will be provided to athletes across all Olympic Villages which are present across the six host cities. 

The Smartphone maker has also communicated that on-site “Open Stations” will be available to provide technical assistance, device activation, and other support for athletes.
